April Breakfast Menu
It's the most important meal of the day, so it's cooked fresh using the best local ingredients. It's also just won us a Breakfast Award from Enjoy England!
Our dry cure bacon and cumberland sausage are well worth my weekly drive to Lakes Speciality Foods. Their bacon has just been declared the best in the UK during Bacon Connoisseurs' Week (promise this isn't an April Fool, there really is a Bacon Connoisseurs' Week!) Fish is from the multi award winning Port of Lancaster Smokehouse. Served 8am until 10am in the dining room. Breakfast in bed can be arranged in our Grand Rooms for a £10 tray charge.
You'll find our sideboard stocked with a variety of goodies to start your day. Home made granola, fruit compot, greek yoghurt, fresh fruit & cereals. A selection of cold meats and cheese as well as home baked bread using organic flour. Then choose from;
- Banana, Vanilla & Maple Smoothie (or ask for it chunkie to keep you full until lunch time)
- Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs on a Toasted Muffin
- Ashton Eggs Benedict, with Dry Cure Back Bacon or Smoked Salmon
- Port of Lancaster Smokehouse Award Winning Smoked Haddock with Poached Eggs
- French toast with bacon and maple syrup or fruit compot & yoghurt
- The Full Lancashire Cooked Breakfast
What's for dinner?
Evening meals can be arranged, just let us know when you book if you'd like to eat at The Ashton. There's not the choice you'd get in a restaurant, we serve a set menu - it's more like having food with friend's. So that we get it right please let us know if there's anything you don't eat or are allergic too. If there's anything in particular you love to eat that'd be good to know too! A typical menu would be:
- Homebaked foccacia with balsamic dip & olives
- Morecambe Bay Shrimps in hot spiced butter
- Indian Style Salmon, Tomato & Lime Sauce & Coriander Rice
- Cartmel Village Sticky Toffee Pudding/ Selection of Local Cheeses
- Selection of Teas & Cafetiere Coffee
- £34.95 p.p.
On Sunday's join us for Supper between 6.30-7.30pm. Included in the room rate (Classic £128, Grand £168) is a bowl of homemade soup, our own baked bread and a choice of wither a Smokehouse Fish Platter or a Lancashire Platter or Pate & Local Cheeses. Plus a bottle of house wine. Must be booked by phone & mention Supper Club when you call.
